interactive forms
Probably a website's next most important page after the home page is your Contact or Enquiry Form. It can be your Order Form, your Sign Up Form, even your Survey Form if such a form plays a part in your objective of having a visitor to your site interact with the product or service offered.
Sadly, this Form is widely neglected in terms of how it's presented and in some cases, even functionality. The site's theme should extend to an interactive form no matter how short or simple the form. This is where your visitor will provide you with contact information so you can follow up on requests or enquiries. Even if you don't do a makeover for the entire site, it may be a good idea to at least take a serious look at your homepage and yes, your Contact Form.
There are a number of add-on functions that can help improve security whilst making it more convenient for your visitors to complete a form. Applications like date pickers, email address validators, anti-spam measures (like captcha), multi-select options, currency convertors, help tags ... all make form-filling less of a chore - an invaluable step towards making hits count!
On the subject of interactive forms and conversions, you should give some thought to having a "survey" form popup if anything other than the "Send" or "Submit" button is clicked so you can track why your visitors stopped short of contacting you, placing an order or going through with a request. And whilst you are at it, how about an incentive for completing that survey form?
